Rough Draft Mission Statement
Posted by Chris | Filed under Uncategorized
We’re here to help you (the bands) establish your online identity with more than just a myspace or facebook page. We help create and design a professional quality yourbandname.com website using our custom wordpress based backend, allowing you to add music, photos, tour dates, and more. By signing up with Bands2Fans, you’ll also be included in our network of musicians we represent as well as have access to all of their fans.
Not only do we help build your website, but we also get you setup with how to distribute your music online (at a price set by you) and can assist in setting you up with booking agents for shows. You’ll also have access to designers, photographers, printing presses, and recording studios.
Essentials pages for a successful music website:
1. Music (listen and purchase)
2. Shows (tour dates and live events)
3. Bios (band members, band’s sound)
4. Photos/Videos
5. Booking/Contact
Optional pages to include are:
News and updates, merchandise, links, message boards, and more
For the fans, we are offering unrestricted access to the bands in our network. You can listen to music from every band for free, find shows in your area, view photos and videos, purchase albums and merchandise, discuss music with other fans, and much more. You don’t even have to sign up for an account to have full access to the music we provide.
Green Light Society is on board for the project

I’ve been meeting with a few bands over the past 2 weeks to get feedback on what they’d like to have offered to them in terms of a website. The first band website I’ve started working on is for the band Green Light Society. They tour all over the east coast and have played a number of festivals as well. So far, the main components that I want to have on every band’s website is:
1. Music (listen and purchase)
2. Shows (tour dates and live events)
3. Bios (band members, band’s sound)
4. Photos/Videos
5. Booking/Contact
Optional sections include a news page, merchandise, links, and a message board. I’m planning on getting the first site up within the next couple of weeks, while working with the band on tweaking the interface for updating the sections on their own. Right now, we’re still working on picking out an available domain name, and later in the week we’re meeting up to go over the rough draft design.
